Simon Youth graduation Academy at indianapolis public schools

We are a proud member of the Indianapolis Public Schools community, providing alternative education for grades 11 and 12.

Welcome to Simon Youth Graduation Academy at Indianapolis Public Schools, a unique educational environment designed for students in grades 11 and 12 who seek alternative pathways. Led by Principal Robert Moses, our Academy focuses on students who are credit deficient, desire early graduation, or are exploring specific career pathways.

At our state-of-the-art facility, we blend traditional classroom instruction with online learning. Our tailored approach helps students in Indianapolis take charge of their educational journeys. Whether through dual credit opportunities, commercial photography training, or digital marketing, we strive to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for success.

Our commitment extends beyond academics, offering clubs, professional mentoring, and community service opportunities. We are determined to help students obtain their high school diplomas, becoming happy, productive, and successful individuals.

Our school is open to all 11th and 12th grade students. Ideal candidates are highly motivated students looking for flexible credit recovery options or enjoy a more autonomous learning schedule.

In addition, students at Simon Youth Graduation Academy will abide by our Academy Full Value Contract, which will be developed and revised yearly by our students.

Student dress code policy, located on our district website, outlines what is considered acceptable attire for students.

Academy students will utilize public transportation and will be provided with monthly IndyGo bus passes.  We will be happy to assist you in figuring out your route. While utilizing IndyGo facilities, students are subject to the rules and regulations of IndyGo.

Simon Youth Academy
Sunday was the day for the last graduation at Simon Youth Academy at Circle Centre Mall. When I was offered the job by Teresa James I had no idea how life transforming it would become. Not just for our students, but myself. The last nine years have been the best years of my working life. The partnership between IPS and the Simon Youth Foundation did not begin and will not end with our academy, but I am thankful for all at SYF have done for our students. And, as we leave the mall and head for a new SYA at Arsenal Technical High School I offer this thought:Our students come from the most challenging environments you could imagine. They use those challenges to build resilience. They craft their own individual identities as they learn and grow, living as one family that is the Indianapolis Public Schools. Today they are ready to build their own lives as they enter an often unforgiving world. But fear not, they’ve got this because there is no better kid than an IPS kid.The most beautiful souls you’ll ever meet. See MoreSee Less
