I am excited to start a new teaching adventure with the staff and students of Shortridge High School. I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, completed some of my primary education in Southern Indiana, and finished out my adolescent and teenage years in the suburbs of Chicago. I attended college at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, IL and earned my BS in Secondary English at IUPUI in Indianapolis planting roots in nearby Greenfield, IN.
For the past nineteen years I taught at Pendleton Heights Middle School and Greenfield-Central High School. During my time at Pendleton Heights Middle School, I taught seventh and eighth grade language arts and gifted and talented language arts. I also taught English 9 and 10, Honors English 9, 10, and 11 and ACP W131 while teaching at Greenfield-Central. Currently, at Shortridge High, I will be teaching AP English 10 and DP 1 Language and Literature.
When I am not teaching, I spend the majority of my time with my blended family. As a family we like to spend time with one another going to the symphony on the prairie, participating in escape rooms, and playing board games. I also enjoy being outdoors hiking, white water rafting, kayaking, and rock climbing. I also enjoy reading, cooking, creating crafts and traveling.
