Greetings! My name is Nariman Jaber and I am a Muslim Palestinian American who grew up in Little China, NYC. I am happy to be an instructor of ENL at Shortridge High School. I have previously taught at Arsenal Technical High School and Arlington High School.
Before moving to Indiana, I taught at several NYC charter/private schools and at Union County College in NJ. I lived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia for nearly a decade on a scholarship to study Arabic and Theology. It was an amazing experience that allowed me the opportunity to meet humble human beings from all parts of the globe, make pilgrimage every year, and enjoy the warm climate year round.
And, yes! I certainly enjoyed having a private chauffeur as it was quite a relief from years of driving alongside the infamous yellow cabs of NYC. Some personal things about me include the love for traveling and connecting with nature. I also enjoy biking, rollerblading, skating, watching movies, and trying new recipes. My goals include advancing my education and teaching in refugee camps abroad. A question I always get asked: What brought you from NYC to Indiana? The answer is simple: My husband! :()
