I am excited to have the opportunity to teach as an Inclusion Teacher at Shortridge this school year! I am originally from Fishers, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. Growing up, I attended Fishers High School and then college at the University of Dubuque in Iowa and majored in Secondary English Education and Special Education, with minors in Middle School English and Math. I’ve spent the last two years teaching middle school English in Los Angeles, California.
I will hold high expectations for my students as they develop their critical thinking, writing, and analysis skills in preparation for life beyond high school. Committed to modeling confidence, my goal is to teach my students how to be advocates for themselves and for others through language, so they can be world-changers!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my French Bulldog, doing yoga, reading, watching IU basketball, and baking. Traveling and exploring new places is one of my favorite things to do when I’m not teaching! My family has a beach house in North Carolina so I often visit there to relax.
