Mrs. Min Hou-Wang
I grew up in mainland China and taught English as a foreign language in Zhejiang University, a very prestigious university located in the sister city of Indianapolis—Hangzhou before I came to America. In the previous years, I taught Mandarin at Brownsburg High School and have been a lead coordinator of the Indiana High School Summer Bridge Camp in China for the past three years. I am very excited to become part of Shortridge community as both Mandarin and ESL teacher this year. I truly believe that student engagement–attention, interest, curiosity, and passion –that students display in the process of learning, is the key to the success of any learning. As a teacher, I strive to provide a learning environment in which students are actively engaged intellectually, emotionally, behaviorally, socially, & culturally.
“Tell me, I will forget. Show me, I may remember. But involve me, I will understand.” (Chinese Proverb)
