Born and raised here in Indianapolis, circumstances have pulled me away to parts unknown on a variety of occasions including when my parents took our whole family to live in Saudi Arabia when I was five. After three years living near the desert, we came back and I attended Christ the King and Bishop Chatard High School here in Indianapolis. I studied History and Education at Indiana University, then was drawn to Poland to teach teachers of English for two years.
I began my American teaching career at St. Joan of Arc school, while adding English/Language Arts to my license at IUPUI. After eight years of teaching middle school, my family and I moved abroad where I taught middle and high school Literature at American and international schools in Mexico and Latvia, respectively.
I taught AP English Language and Speech here at Shortridge until my wife Beth and I had our son Thomas two years ago. Now, I am involved with a variety of things at Shortridge, including tech support and all things Media Center.
I love biking, cooking, hiking, playing just about any sport or game, and spending time with my family.
