Mr. Matthew Durrett
Before becoming a classroom teacher, I worked in museum education, coordinating the National History Day in Indiana program for more than nine years. I attended the University of Kentucky and received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education. Later I attended IUPUI to receive a Master of Arts in Museum Studies. I am dedicated to lifelong learning inside and out of the classroom, and I love to share my passion for museums and informal learning environments. Some of my favorite learning experiences include traveling in Europe, leading student trips to Washington D.C., visiting museums and historic sites, working on archaeological digs, and installing museum exhibits. Outside of teaching and learning I love to read history books and fantasy novels, taking on new challenges, and spending time with my family.
