Mr. Jonathan Bernardi
I came to Shortridge High School having taught in a variety of contexts on three continents. I grew up in Indy, attending Southport High School and then the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities at Ball State. I am a graduate of Amherst College and have studied Math Education at IUPUI, aided by receiving a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship in 2014.
I have lived and worked in Manhattan, Moscow, and even Mwanjawanthu, Zambia, and my professional background includes experience in the editorial and construction fields. Nothing I have done is more satisfying and meaningful than teaching. I truly believe success in math is a product of mindset, not talent.
At Shortridge, you will find me tutoring at after-school study tables, leading the Academic Super Bowl team, mentoring the Robotics team, and coaching the DISCpicable Devils ultimate frisbee team. One of my favorite things to do is help announce the home football games.
