I am the assistant principal at Shortridge High School. Prior to joining the Blue Devils administration, I taught high school English for more than 10 years. I am passionate about youth empowerment and believe education provides people, especially emerging adults, opportunities to chart their own life journeys.
I also believe that leadership helps people imagine and act on their better selves. Teachers become teachers because we love sharing our love of quadratic equations, dependent clauses, American history, and chemical moles. As assistant principal, I work to help teachers meet those ideals and students how to ask questions and how to seek answers.
I am featured in The Cage-Busting Teacher and How to Be Heard: Ten Lessons Teachers Need to Advocate for Their Students and Profession.
I am married to Stevie, a civil rights attorney, and we have one daughter.
