I have lived in Indianapolis, Indiana for the past ten years. I am originally from Gary, Indiana.  I attended Tennessee State University; however, I obtained my BA from Indiana University Northwest. Teaching is my third career. I was a Test Production Associate at the American Dental Association in Chicago, Illinois.  I was a Family Case Manager with the Indiana Department of Child Services. I went back to school in 2011 to obtain my graduate degree.

I began teaching full-time as an Indianapolis Teaching Fellow (Cohort 5). I received my MAT from Marian University in 2013 after teaching for two years as an Indianapolis Teaching Fellow (Cohort 5).  I am entering my 9th year of teaching.

I am married to Pete Lee, and we have four children together (Breanna .- 22, Tamia – 20, and the twins, Marcella & Jeremiah – 12). I am excited about joining IPS and teaching 9th grade English at Shortridge.
