I am excited to join the Shortridge community this school year as MTSS coach. A life-long east sider, I grew up attending Arlington Woods 99, Forest Manor Middle School, and Howe High School. Upon leaving IPS as a student, I attended Indiana University in Bloomington before returning to Indy to start my career.
I have worked in various capacities in IPS, Warren, and Washington townships, with a pause or two while I completed an MFA in Creative Nonfiction.
In addition to my work in schools, I have served on multiple boards with regard to literacy, writing, and equity. I was a two-term member of the Teacher Advisory Board for Teaching Tolerance (now Learning for Justice), and I have been a facilitator with the Hoosier Writing Project for over ten years.
I have an amazing spouse and two grown children. When we are together, you will find us trying out new recipes, traveling to obscure music venues, or watching documentaries on Netflix.
