Hello! I am Amy Collins from Carmel, Indiana. I am married to a Carmel Police officer and I am the mother of two wonderful children, Ty age 10 and Jenna age15. Our family enjoys traveling and exploring new places. I am also a Beachbody coach and enjoy working out 5-6 days a week. I like to scrapbook, love to listen to music and think of myself as an amateur photographer. I attended Ball State University where I earned my B.S. in Elementary Ed and a Master’s in Special Education. I have been a special education teacher since September 2003.
I began my career at IPS and then moved to Carmel Clay Schools in July 2006, where I stayed until May 2019. My career has involved being a Life Skills teacher, an FAP teacher and a mild interventions/resource teacher, all at the middle school level. After years of preparing middle school aged students for their high school career, I am looking forward to my first year at Shortridge High School and experiencing the high school level of education.
