Although born in Indianapolis, I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2008, I returned to Indianapolis to attend Butler University. After spending the last 10 years learning about and exploring the city, I’m proud to call Indianapolis my home. I’ve spent the last six years teaching middle school science, MYP and DP biology, botany, human genetics, and biomedical science in Indianapolis Public Schools and Carmel Clay Schools. In 2017, I earned my Master’s in Effective Teaching and Leadership from Butler University.

I am excited for the upcoming year at Shortridge! I spent many hours in the building as an undergraduate and am now excited to return for my seventh year as a teacher at Shortridge! As a MYP biology teacher, my primary goal is to engage students in the process of science and consider the impact of biology locally and globally.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, biking, camping and reading. This past summer, in between getting married and playing with my Shiba Inu, Yoshi, I traveled to Key West and Mexico!
