Winter Break: IPS Holiday Giveaway, Meal Service and Asynchronous Learning Day

WINTER BREAK (Dec. 17-31) 
Please mark your calendars for Winter Break, which is December 17-31, 2021. 

IPS HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY (Dec. 21)

IPS families are invited to visit one of four drive-through locations from 6-7 p.m. to receive food, school supplies, winter apparel (hats, coats, scarfs, gloves), and toys for the holiday season. All items are while supplies last.

  • Brookside School 54, 3150 E. 10th St.
  • Eleanor Skillen School 34, 1410 Wade St.
  • Ernie Pyle School 90, 3351 W. 18th St.

If you’d like to provide donations, complete this form. Donations will be accepted through December 10.

MEAL SERVICE (Dec. 21, 28 and 30)

Bagged meals will be served drive-thru style at the schools listed below. Meals are available to any child 18 years of age and younger regardless of enrollment in IPS.

Each day from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.:

  • Tuesday, December 21:  3 days’ worth of breakfast and lunch
  • Tuesday, December 28:  3 days’ worth of breakfast and lunch
  • Thursday, December 30: 2 days’ worth of breakfast and lunch

ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING DAY (Jan. 3)
In an effort to provide teachers and instructional-based school staff additional time for planning, IPS has added an asynchronous learning day to the 2021-22 school year calendar. During this day, students will participate in remote learning from home. School work will be posted in Schoology by Dec. 16.
