IPS Names Stephen Shorter Interim Principal at Shortridge High School

Indianapolis Public Schools is pleased to announce Stephen Shorter as the interim principal at Shortridge High School. Mr. Shorter has worked in education for more than 25 years spending nearly 15 of those as a school administrator. Highlights of his experience include serving as the principal of a junior high school and high school in Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Mr. Shorter most recently spent eight years working in district administration, also in Spring Branch Independent Schools, before retiring last year.

Mr. Shorter has a proven track record of excellence, high academic achievement and top honors at the schools he’s led, including landing a spot on Newsweek’s America’s Best High Schools List six years in a row. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University and a Master of Education in School Administration from Sam Houston State University.

Mr. Shorter will transition into the interim position at Shortridge on June 24, 2019.
