Dear Shortridge Families,

Important this week!

Family Focus Group: Volunteers are needed on Feb 25th at 5:30 pm in room 167 for a 30-minute focus group discussion. This will be lead by Butler Students in the College of Communications. They are doing a strategic marketing plan for us to use in our fall recruitment time. Parents will be asked to share why they chose Shortridge for their family and what other families should know about the program and the school when choosing Shortridge.

New Shortridge Spirit Gear is now available! Check out the new gear and get your swag for the next big school event or spring competition seasons. Click here.  Limited sample items will be for sale in the cafeteria as volunteers are available. Contact Lori Armstrong if you are interested in working a sales table from 11-1pm any day until the items are all sold.
Mock DP Papers and I-STEP Exams. Congrats to all the Diploma Program Seniors on completing their practice exams. These last seven days of trial run have been yet another pioneering journey for these bright young scholars. We all learned a great deal from the experience and expect them to be more prepared for finals in May. Best wishes to the sophomores as they begin their series of testing; which is part of an evaluation in a statewide shift to new testing strategies for graduation exams.
Yearbook ads for sale! Do you own a business or work in a place that might be interested in advertising in the Shortridge Yearbook? If so, contact Al Hoffman at for details.
Community Service is part of the IB World School structure! Did you know that this school year, over 2,500 hours of service have been logged by our scholars? According to estimated value of the volunteer hour, that means your scholars have given about $64,000 in service to our school and your neighborhoods. Please ask your scholar to show you their MB Community Service page. Check they have logged their activities, completed reflections and added evidence to receive full credit. These are great resume building block opportunities and can lead to scholarships for higher education. We don’t count hours but a good rule of thumb is 20-30 hours each school year minimum. The focus is to engage in activities; which allow them growth in all the outcomes areas listed in MB.
