If the tradition, history, and culture of an HBCU is calling your name,
now is the time to begin exploring your options. There are many local
organizations dedicated to preparing students for the college
application process. Mentoring programs, including Boys II Men, organize tours of HBCUs for high school students and their parents.

Sororities,
fraternities and alumni groups also arrange tour groups and provide a
wealth of information to interested students and their families. The
Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is
preparing for the 30th annual HBCU bus tour this spring. You can find
more information and plan ahead for next year’s tour on the Delta Sigma
Theta website here.

Scholarship
opportunities are available at every HBCU. In addition to Presidential
Scholarships for students who demonstrate overall excellence in their
high school careers, a multitude of performance and need-based
scholarships are offered.

The following national organizations provide scholarship opportunities for students as well:

Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund

Jackie Robinson Foundation

Ron Brown Scholar Program

United Negro College Fund

Ford Foundation Scholarships

Don’t
forget to enlist the assistance of Andrea Harris  (our guidance counselor); she is a fantastic resources to find scholarship opportunities to make
your college goals a reality!
