The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon will take place on November 1st to raise money for Indianapolis Public Schools. This is Gambold’s third year to participate and it has grown into an all school event.

Nearly our entire Freshman class and some parents will be heading out at 5:00am to volunteer and set up the finish line and other last minute jobs to get ready for the participants to arrive.

A few teachers and staff including our Principal, Shane O’Day will run. “Running alongside Gambold Prep and IPS students is an honor because I know what it took to train and prepare,” O’Day says. “It is this type of dedication and perseverance that translates from our athletic programs to our classrooms.”

Many of our scholar athletes are joining hundreds of other IPS students on the course to run the event.

Making the event festive, the Percussion Class will be out at the water station near Riverside Park to add some pep in the steps toward the finish line.
