    An IB world middle school (new programming) and will serve as a direct feeder for the Center For Inquiry and Montessori programs in Zone 4

    We are recommending a comprehensive set of upgrades to the facility to make it more vibrant and allow it to seamlessly re-welcome students to the facility. 

    Facility Upgrades

    Rebuilding Stronger is our commitment to ensuring there are excellent choices open to every single one of our students, in every school, in every neighborhood. As part of this commitment, IPS is making facility improvements at Thomas Carr Howe Middle School. 

    Highlights include:

    • Improve Space Functionality to Support Programs and address deficiencies
    • Address building deficiencies such as vehicular traffic, paved surfaces, fencing, interior lighting, plumbing, fire alarm, roof, exterior windows, elevator, interior floors, etc
    • Increase security through card access and cameras
    • Improve Middle School Athletic Offerings through
      • New turf football field
      • Mill & resurface track
      • New softball field
      • New baseball field
      • New dugouts, batting cage, fences, bullpen
      • New goalposts
      •  New storage building, concessions
      • New restrooms
      • Lighting and sound
      • New “tip & roll” bleachers
      • Grandstand improvements
      • New accessible routes
      •  Drainage improvements 
    • State-of-the-art VOIP phone system & Intercom via other funding via other funding
