The IPS Promise: Graduate from High School into a Future of Your Own Making

The IPS Promise

At Indianapolis Public Schools, we believe students have the power to choose their own future as they consider high school options and their college and career goals. Here’s our commitment to every high school student within IPS.

A laser-like focus on college and career preparation

Our four high schools are pioneers in the State of Indiana, serving as College and Career Academies with coursework and programming built to help students explore specific college and career opportunities.

Our student-centered approach begins with guided planning for post-graduation in our summer bridge program, before students even start high school. Driven by student goals, our guidance continues with Freshman exploration programming and mandatory courses in Planning for College and Career. And every student completes a capstone project or experience in line with their college or career goals.

IPS Future Centers connect all college and career programming, serving school-based advising centers focused exclusively on preparing students for their post-secondary plans.

A sense of community for all, marked by personalized attention from excellent Faculty

Our high school graduating classes range from just over 100 to a maximum of 500 students. And most students join smaller cohorts within their pathways – often with just a few dozen students.

Respected Community and Industry partners who advise and support academic and career programs

Partners range from IU Health to Corteva, FFA, Eli Lilly and Company, EmployIndy and more.

An unmistakable commitment to educational equity

We are committed to providing access to rigorous academics for all students within IPS.

Connections to academic partners that give students a jumpstart on their post-graduation plans

Every student has the opportunity to secure a career-related credential or college-level credit through our college and university partners or through International Baccalaureate. These partners include IUPUI, Butler University, Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College.
