George Washington High School

We are a proud member of the Indianapolis Public Schools community of schools serving grades 9 through 12.

We make high school personal

At George Washington, we offer college preparatory and career and technical education pathways for students in a neighborhood-focused environment with personalized attention and inclusive support.

With a community of just 800 students – the smallest across IPS – our commitment to providing personalized attention and academic support is paramount to who we are. Located in one of Indianapolis’s most culturally diverse neighborhoods, we provide resources that meet our students where they are – from English Language Learning to advisory cohorts that foster meaningful relationships with advisors and peers.

With an equal commitment to a wide-range of educational pursuits, we provide a broad-based curriculum with a special emphasis on college and career academies in Advanced Manufacturing; Business and Finance; Information Technology. Our career pathways not only prepare students for employment, enlistment or post-secondary education, but can lead to paid internships with some of Indiana’s leading companies, like Eli Lilly.

Where Diversity and Opportunity Inspire Achievement

At George Washington High School, student achievement and success is our number one priority. We prepare our students for life beyond high school – whether that future lies in employment with a high wage job, enrollment in a college or university, or a career in the military.
