Sunday Evening Phone Message for 1.12.20

  • Mission moment: our mission is inspiring children to transform the world. This week’s mission moment go to Mr. Henderson’s class. They have been excited about the worms in our dirt at recess and have invited experts from the community to share about soil health and composting as they continue to question and think about the relationship between people and worms.
  • Report cards went home on Friday. Please check your child’s backpack and be sure to sign the report card envelope and return it to school so that we know you have seen it. Remember that we do not have a traditional grading scale at our school. For support with understanding the report card please visit our website myips.org/butlerlabschool55 and go to the tab that says “get involved” and then click report card help. If you have questions about grades please reach out to your child’s teacher.
  • Help keep our teachers and friends from getting sick. Keep your child home until his or her fever has gone without medicine for 24 hours. Colds can continue to be contagious for at least 48 hours. Also keep your child home for 24 hours after the last time he or she vomited or had diarrhea. Thanks for helping our community to stay healthy!
  • Please remember that hoodies are not permitted in classrooms per the IPS dress code. Students can wear solid colored sweaters or sweatshirts without hoods. For the complete dress code please visit myips.org, click the students and families tab, and then click uniforms. We appreciate your support in sending students to school in uniform each day.
  • PreK families! Remember that you need to apply to our school for kindergarten through the enroll indy lottery. Please go to enrollindy.org to apply and reach out to the school if you have questions about the process! The deadline for the first round of the lottery is quickly approaching on  January 31st. K-7 families who already have students at our school do not need to reapply!
