Sunday Evening Phone Message for 9.23.19

  • Mission Moment: This week’s mission moment is about our fifth grade classes. Ms. Spitale and Ms. Wilkerson’s classes are reading biographies about change makers and thinking about how our words, actions, and ideas can transform the world. This week they will be exploring how they have changed over time as individuals and begin thinking about what they can do to change the world!
  • Parents in Touch Day is this Wednesday, September 25th. Students do not attend on this day so that teachers can hold conferences with parents. Please visit to sign up for a time slot.
  • On Wednesday, there will be a dyslexia law Q and A with Ms. Lewis in room 116 from 2-2:30 and 7-7:30 for first and second grade families with questions.
  • There will be no volleyball, soccer, baseball, or clubs on Wednesday, September 25th due to PIT day.
  • Please be sure that you are checking Friday folders for your child’s related arts rubric. We are working to increase communication between the related arts team and parents. One way we want to do this is through giving your child and you consistent feedback about their participation in related arts. Students are self-reflecting at the end of each related arts class and teachers are also assessing students. The rubric is aligned to our grading scale. Please look at the rubric, talk with your child, sign it and return it to school. Remember that with our grading scale the goal is proficient. Below proficient means that your child has areas to grow and above proficient means they are surpassing expectations.
