I have been teaching at CFI for almost 15 years!
I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Indiana University in 2001, and promptly moved to San Francisco, where I lived for nearly four years. I got an accidental start to my teaching career in a 2nd grade classroom in East Palo Alto, CA. I taught the following year in San Rafael, CA, before returning home to Indianapolis to be near family. I earned my Indiana teaching license at Indiana Wesleyan University, and have been teaching at CFI ever since. Over the course of my career at CFI, I have taught 2ndthrough 5th grades, and currently teach 2nd grade.
I have a number of hobbies, such as traveling, camping, hiking, sports, music, and reading. Gardening has been a passion of mine my entire adult life. A few years ago, my students and I worked together to design and build our CFI garden on the Cultural Trail. Most of all, though, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my amazing family: my wife, Kelly, and my children, Annie and Harper.
