Taylor, Erin (Life Skills)

Hello! My name is Erin Taylor. I have been in education for 18 years. I started my teaching career as a missionary teaching third grade  in Honduras and am proud that the elected student president of the school both years came from my third grade classroom and they were both female. When I moved back to the United States, I was hired at IPS as a  special education floater but was quickly given a permanent placement in the autism program at Rousseau McCllelan Montessori IPS 91. The following year, after obtaining a transition to teaching license, I was offered a teaching position as a second elementary autism teacher at 91. Washington Township modeled their autism program after my classroom. Then I moved on to a life skills program at Crooked Creek Elementary School in Washington Township.  I returned to IPS in 2022 and worked for a year as a MS inclusion teacher.  Now, I’m back in life skills and so excited to be here at CFI 27!!

Some of my interests are dancing, singing, playing my guitar and writing music.  I enjoy painting as well.  I’m obsessed with goats, sloths, sunflowers, and the color orange. I have been married for 6 years and have a step-son, Turner, and four fur babies: two dogs (Pink and Chico) and two cats (Kitty and Monty).  Pink is a foster dog.

I’m looking forward to a great year!
