We are a proud member of the Indianapolis Public Schools community of schools, offering an innovative educational experience for students from Pre-K to 8th grade.

Children are naturally curious about the world, and they have many ways to express what they know. They have questions of their own that should be taken seriously by the adults who surround them. At the IPS/Butler University Laboratory School #60, students gain math, science, language and social studies skills through learning projects on topics of interest as they discover the answers to their own questions. A special emphasis is placed on problem solving and on the arts and sciences as forms of communicating, expressing ideas and demonstrating learning. With the support of a creative staff and the Butler University College of Education, our students will be prepared for successful lifelong learning.

8th graders have been busy at Camp Tecumseh team building, flying high on the ropes course, and having fun on their last hurrah before high school. See MoreSee Less

Last Saturday was the track championship at Christel House Manual. Impressively, our boys team got 4th place out of 19 IPS schools with just 3 scoring competitors (August, Jeremiah, Caleb)! This is out of all of the kids in the IPS school district this season. August was the champion in the 1600m, and 4th in the high jump. Jeremiah took 3rd in the hurdles (winning his heat), and 4th in the shotput. Caleb was a season best 14’6" in the long jump for 6th place. The girls were 8th place overall, with our 6 valiant athletes. Iris was 2nd in the 800m in a season best. Sophia was 2nd in the high jump, and 7th in the 400m. Brooklyn performed very well in 2 field events, with 3rd place in the shotput and 9th in the long jump. Maia ran well in the 800m for 9th, Akira ran great in the 100 hurdles (14th) and Aleeyah was 10th in the 200m. The girls had nice passing the 4x100m, which was exciting. Congrats to all of our athletes on an exciting season. Thank you to parent Nick Rattray for coaching! See MoreSee Less

Thank you to everyone who spent the evening with us for our 8th grade promotion. The night was filled with reminders of how much our staff care for, believe in, and are cheering on the class of 2028. Our student speakers reminisced on their school experience, gave perspective and advise, and shared how much this community means to them. It was the most Lab School night ever and it was perfect! Congrats! See MoreSee Less
