Sunday Evening Phone Message for 2.2.20

  • Mission moment: Our school’s mission is inspiring children to transform the world. This week, we wanted to highlight some 4th grade students that recognized a problem and took action to make it better. 4th grader John Sams noticed that there was a lot of trash outside, so he decided that he would work to pick it up. Three other 4th grade friends decided that they’d join him and eagerly helped clean up our school grounds. What a beautiful example of our school’s mission in action!
  • Please remember that for our kindergarten through seventh grade students, arrival begins at 9:05. We cannot accommodate students who are dropped off earlier than 9:05, as we do not have staff available for supervision. Thank you for your help with this!
  • What an exciting time we have had during our Pennies for Patients program. Our students have been able to learn about kindness, bravery, and how working together for one common goal will help us become proactive members of the community. It’s not too late to contribute and help fun life-saving research. This is our final week for our campaign. You can support our squad by sending in your child’s collection box or donating online. Our school has raised over $525 in the first two weeks!
  • 5th grade families – We know there are lots of questions about the transition to middle school. Throughout this semester, we will have a variety of experiences for our 5th graders and their families to learn more about our middle school program. On Thursday, Feb. 13th there will be a rising 6th grader family information meeting. At this event, families will have the opportunity to meet the middle school teachers, learn more about the middle school curriculum, and get an overview of typical developmental characteristics for this age. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 13th in the cafeteria any time in between 5:00 and 5:30 if you would like pizza, and the presentations by the middle school team will begin at 5:30 and last until 6:00. Hope to see you then!
  • Middle School Families – Save the date for the upcoming Middle School Dance on Friday, February 28!
  • Middle School Girls Basketball Game on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 6:15 pm here at School 55. We also have an Elementary Girls Basketball Game on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 6:15. There will be an admission fee and concessions available. Please come out to support our girls!
  • GeekPrank.com will make everyone believe they are looking at a real Windows XP operating system, but the thruth is that this is just a simulator running in a web browser.
