Principal’s Update 11.19.19

  • Sarah Dandalet has joined our staff as our K-2 instructional assistant. She has jumped right in and is working with small groups of students throughout the day to give them more academic support.
  • Our Assistant Principal will go to the school board tomorrow for final approval. After the board meeting, we will make an announcement on social media about our new AP. We are very excited about this candidate and adding this additional level of support in our building!
  • Mission Moment: Inspiring children to transform the world. This week’s mission moment went to Mrs. Yordy’s second grade class. They are exploring color and thinking about how color can transform our world. To follow up on a previous mission moment about fifth grade our fifth graders are Visiting the children’s museum next week to look for examples of transformation in exhibits like the Power of Children.
  • Enrollment is already looking strong for us even though the application has been open for less than a month. We have 34 families ranking us #1 for PreK and 67 families ranking us somewhere on their list for PreK. We have 32 families ranking us #1 for Kinder and 94 families ranking us somewhere for Kinder. We have 1-4 families at every other grade level also ranking us number 1. Remember that if you have sibling at another school that you’d like to come to our school you need to fill out the Enroll Indy application for them. If you have a preK student currently you must also fill out the application. If you have students in our K-7 program already you do not need to reapply.
  • Boltdog Booster Update: Join us for a Dine-In at Chipotle in Broad Ripple on Dec 9th from 4-8pm. Chipotle will donate 33% of their sales for anyone who mentions the Boltdog Booster fundraiser! Please share with others in your community.
  • The Teacher Support Committee is continuing to collect $25 gift cards for our teachers this holiday season. If you’d like to contribute please bring them to the office or reach out to Barb Wylie for more info at bwylie1@ivytech.edu
