- Mission Moment: This week’s mission moment goes to our K-2 Girl Scout Troop 5019. They noticed a lot of trash around the playground and decided to take action. They bought a trash can and spray painted it. All the girls added their hand prints, they painted some details on it and then put it out for our community to use. They also cleaned up the playground and collected about 5 plastic grocery bags full of trash from the playground. It’s awesome to see our girl scout troops supporting our school’s mission.
- Report cards went home on Friday. Please check your child’s backpack and be sure to sign the report card envelope and return it to school so that we know you have seen it. Remember that we do not have a traditional grading scale at our school. For support with understanding the report card please visit our website myips.org/butlerlabschool55 and go to the tab that says “get involved” and then click report card help. If you have questions about grades please reach out to your child’s teacher.
- There was a mistake on the attendance on the K-5 report cards. This was a district IT error that happened at many schools. Please ignore the attendance section of the report card. The district is aware of this error and is working to fix it.
- Box tops due by Tuesday 10/29. You can give any box tops that you have to your classroom teacher.
- We are continuing to collect textbook fees. If you have not paid your fees and you need support please contact April Barber at barbera@myips.org or visit the front office to get a textbook assistance application.
- We need to gather materials for several upcoming projects. Here are the items we are looking for:
- adult or kid sized t-shirts that are solid colors
- fabric and ribbon
- found parts – objects that you might otherwise throw away (hardware, plastic lids, corks)
- toilet paper and paper towel rolls
- If you have any of these items at your house that you’d be willing to donate, please drop them off in the Houdek Donation Box that will be in the front office.
- Our Girl Scout Troop 5462 will be participating in a Sock Drive to benefit a local shelter in Marion County. If you would like to donate socks for the shelter we ask that you consider NEW men’s, women’s, or children’s socks. All donations can be dropped off in the bin inside the main hallway. The Sock Drive runs from October 21 – December 19.
- Enrollment for next school year through enroll indy opens november 1st. If your child currently has a spot at our school you DO NOT have to reapply for next year. If you have a younger sibling or a sibling at a different school that you would like to move to school 55 then you need to apply for that child.
- Our next Boltdog Boosters Meeting is this Tuesday, October 29th at 6 PM in the cafeteria. We will be discussing and voting on a budget for this year. All are welcome!
