Sunday Evening Phone Message for 8.11.19

  • We had a great first week of school. All classrooms focused on getting to know the students, teaching routines and procedures, and building classroom community! Throughout the building students were practicing working together as a team.
  • Thank you for your patience last week as we smoothed out our dismissal procedures. By the end of the week, the car rider line was much quicker. Please arrive at school by 4 to pick your child up in the car line. Continue to stay in touch with your teacher about any dismissal changes. We need a call, email, or note from the parent if there is a change in plans. If you need to pick your student up early please come before 3:15. After 3:15 we ask that you use the car rider line. 
    • 6th and 7th grade families, please be aware that your students dismiss five minutes after the K-5 students. If you are picking a 6th or 7th grader up in the car line please arrive no earlier than 3:45. If you come earlier your student will not be ready when you pull up and you will have to wait. 
    • Our first Boltdog Booster meeting is Tuesday August 20th from 6-7:30 in the cafeteria. All parents and guardians are welcome. We hope you’ll join us to learn about the various committees and ways that you can support our school. 
    • Our booster club is overseen by a governing council. Currently we have 3 positions to fill. We have two at-large seats and we are also looking for a financial director. The at-large seats would support the work of the governing council and add their voices to our discussions. The financial director is like a treasurer. You do not have to be a formally trained accountant for this role…if you manage your family budget and are good with spreadsheets then you are qualified! If you are interested in these positions you can email boltdogboosters55@gmail.com or just show up at the meeting on August 20th! 
    • Childcare?
  • You should have received a white emergency card, a blue title one compact, and a pink permission form either last week or at back to school night. If you have not turned these items in to your teacher please do so ASAP! 
  • Each Friday we send home “friday folders” with information and handouts from school. Please check your child’s backpack and send the folder back to school on Monday. Middle school students do not have a friday folder, but they still take home the school information each Friday!
  • Save the Date for our upcoming curriculum nights: K-5 Curriculum night is August 21st at 6, Middle school and PreK Curriculum night is August 28th at 6!
