Mr. Baugh is currently serving as Principal at Brookside Elementary School, and has previously served as principal Mill Creek West Elementary School, Lew Wallace School 107, and as Founding Principal of Phalen Leadership Academy

Mr. Baugh has a track record of school turnaround success. Most recently, Lew Wallace Elementary School was the highest performing school on the WIDA access test for growth across the District. Additionally, Mr. Baugh and his staff helped advance Lew Wallace Elementary School from the second lowest performing school in the State of Indiana to 13th overall out of 42 elementary schools in IPS, and surpassed more than 318 schools in Indiana. While at Phalen Leadership Academy, Mr. Baugh was responsible for creating a model of instructional excellence which resulted in 98% of the third grade students passing IREAD3 in year one, and 100% in year two. While at Mill Creek, Principal Baugh and team achieved a 91% pass rate in grades 3-5 passed the English Language Arts portion of ISTEP+, and 93% of students passed the Math. Mill Creek West Elementary met AYP six years in a row, was named a DOE Four Star School multiple years and identified within top 10% of high performing Indiana schools. Mr. Baugh earned a M.S. in School Administration from Butler University in 2004, and a B.A. in Music Education from Indiana State University in 2000.

Greeting Brookside Families!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to our 2022-2023 school year! I am looking forward to working alongside our amazing educators to making this another phenomenal school year! I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and perseverance – we can achieve great things! I strive to instill those qualities in our students and to be a positive role model as well. It is my ultimate goal to provide our students with a safe and nurturing environment that challenges them to reach their full potential!  I am and will always be committed to working closely with teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our students are prepared for the next phase of their educational journey and beyond. I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring and proud to be a Brookside Eagle!
