Brookside School 54

We are a proud member of the Indianapolis Public Schools community of schools serving preschool through 6th grade.

Greetings, and welcome to Brookside School 54, a nurturing, loving, and inclusive space where children grow and thrive. Our dedicated educators, wonderful community partners, and involved parents collectively strive to create an environment of Excellence in our Attitude, Action, and Achievement.

Under the able leadership of Principal Jeremy Baugh, we believe in the philosophy of ‘Unlocking Our Potential”. This unique approach ensures our scholars receive excellent learning opportunities and community resources that lay a strong foundation in academics and social-emotional learning. Part of this learning strategy includes small group instruction daily for all scholars in reading and math. This intimate setting allows for individual attention and tailored learning experiences, further augmenting our commitment to academic growth.

Furthermore, we take pride in maintaining an exceptionally warm and inviting school climate, making every scholar feel safe, valued, and motivated. Additionally, we offer free afterschool and summer childcare for all scholars, creating an extended learning environment and support for families.

Our commitment extends to ensuring that every child at Brookside will see a year and a half growth on all standardized assessments in a single school year. This comprehensive approach to learning positions our scholars to become responsible and active members of our community. We are proud to serve your family and the Near Eastside Community, and look forward to a continued partnership. We are proud members of the Indy East Promise Neighborhood.

We are looking for 6th – 11th graders who want to make a difference in the community, grow their leadership skills, and build stronger connections with their peers and community leaders. This opportunity is available to scholars who attend an IndyEast Promise Neighborhood school or live within the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood boundaries. Calling all volunteers! We need your help! We have ten pantry days left this month, and we could use some guided shoppers to help neighbors through our pantry on Monday & Thursday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. This Monday, February 12th, we’re having a coat drive and could use extra hands on deck to assist with passing out coats and guided shopping.
