Welcome to Brookside…Home of the Eagles! At Brookside Elementary we have a caring and compassionate staff, incredible community partners, and parents who are partners with our school.

We are so fortunate to serve your family and the Near East Community. Each day at Brookside, we show Excellence in our Attitude, Action, and Achievement. Each child at Brookside will grow by one and a half years of growth on all standardized assessments in a single school year. That is our commitment of excellence to you. Greeting Brookside Families!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to our 2022-2023 school year! I am looking forward to working alongside our amazing educators to making this another phenomenal school year! I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and perseverance – we can achieve great things! I strive to instill those qualities in our students and to be a positive role model as well. It is my ultimate goal to provide our students with a safe and nurturing environment that challenges them to reach their full potential!  I am and will always be committed to working closely with teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our students are prepared for the next phase of their educational journey and beyond. I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring and proud to be a Brookside Eagle!

2022-2023 IPS Calendar

The 2022-2023 IPS Calendar has been modified and approved by the Indianapolis Public Schools Board of Commissioners. Please note the change this year to one week of Fall Break and one week of Spring Break.

Car Rider Procedures

Connecting the Dots of Success

This year, our Brookside Elementary Theme is Connecting the Dots of Excellence. We believe it is our job to provide our scholars with exceptional learning opportunities, and community resources which will then Connect the Dots of foundational skills in academics and social emotional learning so that they can become strong pillars in our community.

Immunization Requirements

Indiana Law requires all children to be current on immunizations in order to be enrolled in a public school. In order to view a complete list of immunization requirements, please CLICK HERE.

Families have 20 school days from the first day of attendance to complete immunizations. If you have questions, please contact the office, our school nurse, or your child’s pediatrician.

EDGE After School Program

Our wonderful partners at the John Boner Neighborhood Center offer an after school option for Brookside Students and Families. To learn more about this program and how to register, please CLICK HERE.

Additionally, the JBNC offers a plethora of resources for families and community members. Stop by our school office and ask to speak to Josh or Mariah. They can assist you with virtually any type of assistance your family may need: housing, utility support, food stability, career advancement/training, etc.

JBNC Community Needs Survey

Our partners at the John H. Boner Center are conducting a Family Needs Assessment. The needs assessment will provide our school, and the John H. Boner Center with information about how best to use our building as a community resource hub to support your family.

How to Log In to a Chromebook

IPS students in grades 3-12 will receive a Chromebook this year to participate in digital coursework and to utilize for homework, and remote learning days.

Children with Chromebooks will be able to request a mifi device, if needed, so students can work remotely on assignments, class projects, and remote learning on school snow days or closures. Families who wish to request a mifi, should contact the school office.

Children with iPads will have wireless internet activated in the iPad so students can work remotely on assignments, class projects, and remote learning on school snow days or closures.
