Welcome to Broad Ripple IB Middle School, a prestigious institution with a rich history dating back to 1886. As we embrace the future, Broad Ripple is reopening to serve as an IB World Middle School.

We are committed to fostering a student-centered approach with an international perspective, focused on developing flexible thinking and critical evaluation skills. Our dynamic curriculum offers opportunities for action, service, language learning, and rigorous objectives to prepare students for complex, unfamiliar situations.

With substantial investments in building improvements, athletic facilities, and special education services, Broad Ripple IB Middle School is set to provide a vibrant and robust learning environment that meets the needs of all students. Under the leadership of Principal Tiffany Robinson, we are excited to embark on this new chapter, inspiring the next generation of globally-minded citizens.

Its time to spotlight one of our new staff for BRMS for the 2024-25 school year.Shumin Fang is joining as the Mandarin teacher at BRMS. Ms. Fang is entering her 11th year of teaching. She majored in international businesses for her bachelor’s degree and served at the City Mayor’s office as an intern. She went on to earn her master’s degree in secondary education from Indiana University and joined the IPS team in 2014. She is also a level one Mandarin instructor for the Startalk program at Ball State University. Ms. Fang has a lovely four year old son, with the majority of her family lives in China. In her spare time, she serves as the president of the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Indiana and is also the main dancing instructor for the Indiana Chinese Performance Art. It’s time to spotlight one of our new staff for BRMS for the 2024-25 school year.Greetings from Lanasha Edwards joining as the Dean of Students for Broad Ripple Middle School. Lanasha has accumulated a wealth of experience throughout her career. Her career began as an elementary teacher in both charter and public schools in Indianapolis and Arizona. Over time, she progressed to roles as an instructional coach and testing coordinator, further expanding her expertise and impact within the education field. With firsthand experience in diverse educational settings, coupled with a Master’s of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from Ball State University, Lanasha is dedicated to guiding our school and community towards success. She believes in fostering a positive and inclusive environment through effective communication, collaboration, and continuous growth. In addition to her professional background, Lanasha is a wife to her amazing husband, Donald, and a mother to her toddler, Donald IV. Balancing family life with her career is a priority for me, and she cherishes the moments spent with loved ones. It’s time to spotlight one of our new staff for BRMS for the 2024-25 school year.Lori Foster is super excited to join as one of the design teachers. She is already on the hunt for her Orange and Black spirit wear. A graduate of DePaul University with a master’s in visual art education and undergrad with a focus in Fashion and Costume design, this will be her 18th year of teaching. She feels one of the best things about teaching is watching students find their inner creative voice. Lori grew up on the west side of Indianapolis and graduated from Ben Davis H.S.-Go Giants! Her former life in Los Angeles, she designed clothing for videos, independent movies and print advertisements, plus she has also lived in Atlanta, Florida, Kentucky and Chicago. Traveling and experiencing other places is her passion. Lori enjoys spending time with her puppy Coco, that is a 4-year-old Cavalier Spaniel. It’s time to spotlight one of our new BRMS staff for the 2024-25 school year.Hello from Jamie Hall! She is so excited to be teaching design at BRMS! Design is a very special and unique class that is challenging and fun. It focuses on building creative problem solving and critical thinking skills. Design is a practical application of many other subjects, especially math, art, writing, and science. Jamie loves challenging students to develop new ideas and insights as we learn and grow together. There are so many things that can be explored through the design cycle, and students soon see that it is beneficial in many areas of our lives! When she isn’t in the classroom, Jamie usually spends time with her husband and two kids, planting native plants, or making something. She has lived and worked with kids on four continents, so she is happy to bring her experiences back to her home state! It’s time to spotlight one of our new staff at BRMS for the 2024-25 school year.Greetings from Coty Wiley as he joins BRMS as the instructional coach. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 2013 and then taught in the Vincennes Community School Corporation for the first 2 years of his career. For the past 9 years, Coty has been an English teacher at Brownsburg East Middle School, where he also served as English Department Head, team leader, PLC leader, and a member of BCSC’s District Equity Leadership Team. In 2022, he was honored to be selected as Brownsburg’s Secondary Teacher of the Year and later placed in the Top 25 for Indiana Teacher of the Year. Coty enjoys reading, watching TV, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and spending time with his favorite people. He is looking to the future and the opportunity to work at such an historic school.
