Two educators from Indianapolis Public Schools will spend the next school year growing as leaders by participating in the Teacher Leaders Bootcamp.
Ryan Cinninger, who teaches social studies at Simon Youth Academy @ Circle Centre Mall, and Nikia Garland, who teaches language arts at Arsenal Technical High School will participate in the program sponsored by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).
Teacher Leaders Bootcamp graduates will be equipped to share successes, lessons learned, and strategies for overcoming challenges related to teacher leadership implementation. In partnership with the IDOE and national experts, bootcamp participants will gain knowledge and experience, create networks and connections, and engage in professional learning.
The 2022 Teacher Leaders Bootcamp will be composed of 52 teachers and 10 mentors from across the state. Although the 2022-2023 Teacher Leaders Bootcamp is a one-year commitment, participants who complete the program may be invited to be mentors in the future.
