Day 1: Ernie Pyle School 90 Gains STEM Lab Thanks to Community Partners

Join us as we celebrate this holiday season with the “12 days of IPS.” Each day we’ll highlight special happenings from around the district. #12DaysofIPS

Up first, thanks to community partners, students in pre-K to sixth-grade STEM classes at Ernie Pyle have access to 3-D printers and various types of robotics equipment to help spur their imaginations.

Day 2: Indy 500 Queen Readies for Race Weekend

Day 3: IPS School 43 Dedicates Classrooms to Honor Past Teachers

It’s day 3 of #12DaysofIPS! 🎁

In November, James Whitcomb Riley School 43 dedicated classrooms to honor past teachers, the school’s first African-American teacher and a teacher that taught music at the school for 43 years.

Day 4: New Equipment Promises to Boost Performance of All-City Percussion Ensemble

Happy Monday! It’s day 4 of #12DaysofIPS

In March, the IPS All-City Percussion Ensemble added new marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, and cymbals.

Day 5: New Pacers Media Center Advances Literacy at James Whitcomb Riley 43

For the 5th day of #12DaysofIPS, we’re highlighting the new Pacers media center at @JWriley43

Day 6: New seamless admissions initiative to reduce barriers to college for IPS students

It’s day 6 of #12DaysofIPS!

A new initiative IPS announced in September makes it easier for Indianapolis Public Schools students to enroll at Indiana University Indianapolis by automatically admitting those with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Day 7: NFL Player Leads Partnership to Help Create Esports Room at Northwest

For the 7th day of #12DaysofIPS, we highlighting the esports program at Northwest Middle School which received a room filled with new gaming equipment, courtesy of a partnership led by pro football player @KennyKennyMoe3 and his @LoveOneFdn.

Day 8: School Social Worker Honored for Dedication to Her Field

It’s the 8th day of #12DaysofIPS 🎁

In July, Michele Whaley, a social worker at Eleanor SKillen School 34, was recognized for her dedication to her field by the Indiana School Social Work Association.

Day 9: Cathy King: Shaping Young Athletes at the Indianapolis Colts’ Hispanic Heritage Football Camp

In October, the Indianapolis Colts, in collaboration with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, organized a special event at William Penn School 49 to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. Students participated in a Hispanic Heritage Book Fair and a football camp.

Day 10: Celebrating Excellence: Sidener Academy Recognized as National Blue Ribbon School

For the 10th day of #12DaysofIPS, we’re celebrating Sidener Academy’s National Blue Ribbon School designation!

With the simple drop of a gold coin in a book vending machine, students at @IPSNicholson96 are selecting new books that will open doors to exciting stories and greater knowledge.

Day 12: Empowering IPS Students Through the 2023 APEX Benefits Monumental Kids 5K

 It’s the 12 day of #12DaysofIPS! We’re celebrating all the 1,000 IPS students that ran the 2023 Monumental Kids 5k in early October 🏃🏅
