Get ready to celebrate – Indianapolis Public Schools is preparing to send another student athlete off to enjoy a great educational experience and play college basketball! Arsenal Technical High School senior CJ Walker will sign his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Florida State University on November 11. The signing will take place at 6 p.m. in Tech’s West Gymnasium and is open to the public.

Walker is the 21st player from Tech’s boys basketball program to advance to collegiate athletics in the last 4 years. An honor roll student and a Mr. Basketball candidate, Walker averaged 23.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last season. He helped lead the Titans to win the 4A state championship his sophomore year, and he is currently Tech’s 9th all-time leading scorer with 1,008 career points.

“I’m going to miss the culture we’ve created here at Tech,” said Walker. “But I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to becoming a Seminole.”

“CJ has been the ultimate leader for the Arsenal Tech Titans on the court, in the classroom and in the community,” said Head Coach Jason Delaney. “So, on November 11th, we celebrate his future.”

The Titans have been dominating on the court in recent years. Since 2011, Tech’s boys basketball team has achieved four straight winning seasons with an overall record of 79-21. We’re proud of the hard work CJ has put in during his time at Tech, and we’re all looking forward to one more amazing season with him! CJ, congratulations from your entire IPS family!
