Tech Alum’s Circle of Life Inspires Current Students Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase! It means no worries, and that’s exactly what the Arsenal Technical High School students were feeling as they traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, to see “The Lion King” on stage.

Arsenal Tech alum Steven Taylor is currently playing “Mufasa” in the Broadway National Tour for the musical, and Cincinnati is just one of the many stops the tour will be making in the region.

“My time spent at Tech in the music department was where I really learned what it meant to ‘follow your dreams,’” Taylor said. “I’m so proud that students from my alma mater, who sit in the same seats as I did, and walk the same streets as I did, get to see firsthand what not only following, but believing in your dream can lead to! Nothing is impossible!”

“This was my first time actually meeting Steven and it was truly an honor,” Arsenal Tech student Alex C. said. “He’s a down-to-earth individual that I think everyone can relate to. The show was amazing, and I think everyone who performed did exactly what they should, make the audience believe they really were The Lion King characters. It was magical.”

We’re proud of Taylor and his accomplishments in theatre and hope that other students will follow his example, say Hakuna Matata and go after their dreams, no matter how big!
