Teachers’ Treasures to reopen second location on Oct. 5

Teachers’ Treasures, an Indianapolis-based non-profit that provides free school supplies to teachers in Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and in other schools throughout Marion County, is reopening its second location at Northwest Middle School.

On Sept. 27, Teacher’s Treasures will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Northwest, 5525 W. 34 St., from 3-4 p.m. Kenny Moore II, Pro Bowl cornerback and Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for the Indianapolis Colts, will participate. Moore and his foundation, Love One, have partnered with Teachers’ Treasures and are donating 200 backpacks.

Joining Moore at the ceremony: 

  • Jeff Brown, director of operations for the Indianapolis Colts and Teachers’ Treasures board member.
  • Phil Shults, principal of Northwest Middle School.
  • Margaret Sheehan, executive director, Teachers’ Treasures.
  • Mike Cook, director marketing operations, American College of Education.
  • Teachers and students from IPS, Washington Township, and Pike Township.
  • Kim Borges, board chair, Teachers’ Treasures.
