This past weekend, Teach Indy held its first ever Educators Conference.
As part of that conference, they announced a list of educator award winners from around the city, including several from IPS.
Congratulations to the following:
- Kari Clark, Harshman Middle School, who was named African American Teacher of the Year.
- Ashe’ West, Thrival Indy Academy, Center Township Alumni Teacher of the Year
- Julie Busch, William McKinley School 39, Elementary Teacher of the Year
- Briana Leeper, KIPP Indy Legacy High School, ESL Teacher of the Year
- Lidia Mercedes Vidal, Global Preparatory Academy @ Riverside 44, Latinx Teacher of the Year
- Ella Hereth, Harshman Middle School, Math Teacher of the Year
- JaVaughn Hardaway, Henry W. Longfellow Medical/STEM Middle School 28, Mentor Teacher/Teacher Coach of the Year
- Carmella Sparrow, KIPP Indy College Prep Middle School, OEI Middle School Teacherof the Year
- Jack Hesser, Harshman Middle School, Science Teacher of the Year
