Indianapolis Public Schools continues to make strides in many innovative areas of education – and one of our exemplary schools is receiving national recognition! SUPER School 19 received the Action Based Learning Showcase School award on September 26. ABL creator Jean Blaydes made a special visit to Indiana for this celebration.  SUPER School Students Running on ABL Celebration Day

Students are always in motion at SUPER School – Action Based Learning is an internationally known educational model linking movement to improved learning. SUPER School is committed to the science behind ABL; the school mission statement is “engaging students through movement and experiential learning to empower life-long learners who are always committed to seeking their personal best.”

“Indianapolis Public Schools and Action Based Learning began collaborating about 10 years ago to build a model school program that stands out both nationally and internationally,” said ABL leader Jean Blaydes. “Audrey Satterblom and Kathy Langdon moved the initial plan forward with the visionary support of school district leaders and decision makers. Because of their efforts and planning, SUPER School 19 now stands alone as the most outstanding school of its kind.”
Students celebrated this big accomplishment with a morning of special activities including running with the Produce Mom, learning how hard the heart works in a special obstacle course, and sharpening focus through yoga. At a convocation in the afternoon, Jean Blaydes presented SUPER School with their award that will now be proudly displayed!
