At Indianapolis
Public Schools, our commitment to providing nutritious meals to students doesn’t
end when school is not in session!

This summer,
our friendly Foodservice team staffed 19 meal sites, serving 51,154 fresh
breakfasts and lunches to our students – those in summer school, special
programs over the break, and students meeting their friends for a meal at their
neighborhood school.

Thanks to the
USDA’s Summer Food Service Program, IPS is able to provide meals at no cost to
our students. Our special meal offerings continue at select sites over spring
break, fall break, winter break, and on inclement weather days.

In 2015, we
served nearly 69,000 meals outside of regular school days and we look forward
to continuing this important opportunity for our students!

Questions
regarding meal service can be directed to the Foodservice Department at 317.226.4772. A friendly
and knowledgeable staff member is available to answer questions Monday
through Friday until 4:15 p.m.
