Indianapolis
Public Schools is fully committed to ensuring all students are able to achieve
their full potential and can graduate ready to succeed in their careers and
lives. Districtwide implementation of Naviance continues to spark interest in
college for our younger students and aid the college planning efforts of our
high school students.

To
support our commitment to helping our students plan a bright future, we offer Naviance,
a comprehensive college and career readiness platform that helps align a
student’s strengths with their post-secondary goals.

A
feature now available to IPS families is a nationwide scholarship search tool to assist students in finding
financial support for their post-secondary education. Not all scholarships are
alike; many can cover the full cost of tuition or offer a smaller stipend to
cover the cost of books or supplies. There are many deadlines and requirements
that applicants should be aware of when scholarship hunting – the tools
available on Naviance will help facilitate and ease this sometimes cumbersome
process.

Something
else that should be on your radar as a family with graduating
seniors, is the fast approaching deadline for the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA.) For the 2016-2017 school year, the
deadline is March 10 by midnight, Central Time. Check with your high school
counselor for additional support with Naviance, FAFSA and other post-secondary
planning questions.
