Strengthening Student Health: The IPS District Wellness Policy

At IPS, we’re dedicated to promoting a healthy learning environment for our students. Our District Wellness Policy, rooted in the 2004 Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act and the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, aims to foster student health and academic success.

Key Elements of the Wellness Policy:

  • Nutritious Snacks and Meals: A focus on healthy eating habits through the “Smart Snacks” initiative.
  • Active Participation: Each school has a Wellness Team. We encourage you to join and contribute to health-promoting activities at your child’s school.
  • Transparency and Compliance: Regular updates and public disclosure of policy adherence.

Get Involved: For more information or to join the Wellness Teams, contact Kathy Langdon, District Physical Education and Health Coordinator, at
