On January 20th each school throughout the state will be required to participate in a Statewide Readiness Test that will simulate an actual peak test day for a live ISTEP+ assessment. The Indiana Statewide Testing of Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+) is administered annually to students in grades 3-8 and 10.

The Readiness Test will help the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE), school corporations and Pearson Learning Services to determine if the technology requirements for ISTEP+ implementation have been met.

The state of Indiana recently awarded major educational services company Pearson a two-year $38 million contract to administer the ISTEP+ assessment in Spring 2016. After grappling with questionable computer glitches in the scoring process, among many other troubles surrounding the test, the state did not renew its four-year contract with testing giant CTB-McGraw Hill that expired late last year.

The 2016 administration of ISTEP+ will begin in late February.
