In an effort to better serve our IPS students and their
families, we share the following information:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a federal law designed
to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities in programs and
activities that receive federal funds from the US Department of Education.

These guidelines provide an overview of IPS’ process and
procedure for accommodating students with disabilities.  The Section 504 Guidelines were developed in
accordance with federal law so that IPS can provide all students with a free
and appropriate public education.

If you have any questions about the Section 504 process,
please contact the Building 504 Coordinator at your child’s school.  You may also contact the IPS District 504
Coordinator at 317-226-4406.
