When a representative from Samaritan’s Feet International reached out to Principal Tihesha Henderson at Arlington Woods School 99, she jumped at the opportunity for her students to receive the organization’s generous donation of new socks and shoes.
“We are ever so grateful to partner with Samaritan’s Feet International during their National Day of Service,” said Henderson. “Our students deserve the very best. They work hard to be successful in school every day and this is an awesome way to show that their community supports them.”
This will be the school’s first time partnering with the nonprofit organization, which focuses on “creating a world with zero shoeless children.”
Everyone is excited for the giveaway, which will be held Thursday, Jan. 25. Students in Pre-K through Grade 6 will receive free socks and shoes. The organization is known not only for distributing footwear to individuals in the U.S., but to those in need around the world as well.
“We are excited that many of our students will experience a moment in which appreciation is shown to them personally by the washing of their feet and the generosity of receiving a brand new pair of shoes and socks,” said Henderson. “We thank Samaritan’s Feet International for selecting us to participate in this life-changing event!”
