(January 23, 2018) Students at Washington Irving School 14 got a special treat today thanks to National Reading Day! Every student received four books from RTV6 in partnership with Scholastic Books. The Indianapolis ABC-affiliate television station worked with their parent company’s foundation, the Scripps Howard Foundation, to buy the books.

The goal was to target children who may not have had the chance to own a book. What initially started as targeting students from kindergarten to first grade extended to the whole school receiving books. RTV6 employees were able to raise $8400 to help fund the project.
