The Rotary Club of Indianapolis prides itself on the 4-Way
Test, which is centered around the premise that in all the things you think, say or do, ask yourself
these four questions:

  • Is it the Truth?
  • Is it Fair
    to all concerned?
  • Will it build Goodwill
    and better Friendships?
  • Will it be Beneficial
    to all concerned?

On May 10 and 11, 14 members
of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis will visit Harshman Magnet Middle School to
work with 150 7th graders on the 4-Way Test.

Each day, one Rotarian will work
with five or six Harshman students to discuss how
to make good choices. In their small groups, students will be asked how they
would respond to a series of real-life situations that 7th graders
may face.  Students will be encouraged to
apply the 4-Way Test to their responses. If students can answer yes to all four
questions, they are making a good decision.

IPS would like to thank the
Rotary Club of Indianapolis in advance for working with our 7th grade
students on this values-driven exercise. IPS also appreciates the 14 community
members who are volunteering to make a difference for our students.
