It’s common to remember your teacher during the holidays, but what about the crew members who keep our schools running efficiently throughout the year? IPS principals are preparing their annual holiday breakfast as a “thank you” to the men and women of our Facilities Management Division and IPS Police Officers.

It’s a tradition decades in the making; principals from across the district spend the final weeks of the semester planning what to serve the teams who keep us safe and in full operation each day.

“It’s our opportunity to let our craftsmen know how much we appreciate their hard work and the great job they do for IPS,” said Rousseau McClellan School 91 Principal Margaret Higgs, who’s been a part of the Holiday Breakfast team for 20+ years. “They come in and out of our buildings regularly and are never really told how much we appreciate them.”

On December 18th, our principals will be up bright and early making the finishing touches to ensure this annual appreciation breakfast is served with love to our facilities crews and police officers. Any community members interested in joining our principals in this showing of appreciation are welcome! If you’d like to support the Holiday Breakfast efforts, please contact Principal Higgs at
