The Nicholson Performing Arts Academy Cool Cat Choir has been named a finalist in the B105.7 Christmas Choir Competition.

The Cool Cats submitted a recording of “That Blessed Christmas Night” and found out they were a finalist this week.

It took four recordings before the Cool Cats found a sound they liked. Choir Director Amber Price says it was great watching the students learn to critique their work.

“I enjoyed watching the students learn as they listened to themselves sing,” says Price. “The vocal techniques I was working on really started sinking in through this recording process, and it showed through their critiquing of the recordings.”

In order to win the competition the Cool Cats need your votes! The winner will be decided via online voting at and will be awarded $2,500.

“It is an amazing feeling getting to be one of the five finalists,” says student Laloni.

We’re proud of the Cool Cats on being named finalists for this competition! You can also hear the Cool Cats on the airwaves as their song will be played on Thursday, December 4, at 6:20 p.m. on B105.7.
